The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has made it compulsory for manufacturers and importers of microwave ovens to register their products under the Compulsory Registration Scheme (CRS). The CRS was introduced in 2013 to ensure that microwave ovens sold in India meet certain safety and quality standards.

here are the steps on how to register for BIS / CRS for Microwave Ovens:

  1. Go to the BIS website and create an account.
  2. Click on the "CRS Registration" tab.
  3. Select the "Microwave Ovens" category.
  4. Fill out the application form and submit it along with the required documents.
  5. Pay the registration fee.
  6. The BIS will review your application and may conduct an inspection of your product.
  7. If your application is approved, you will be issued a registration certificate.

The registration certificate is valid for a period of five years. You must renew your registration certificate before it expires.

Here are the documents required for BIS / CRS registration for Microwave Ovens:

  • A copy of the manufacturer's or importer's registration certificate with the BIS.
  • A copy of the product's technical specifications.
  • A copy of the product's test report from a BIS-approved laboratory.
  • A copy of the product's user manual.

The BIS may also require additional documents, such as a copy of the product's import permit or a copy of the product's marketing authorization.
